My First Reference Blog

In this blog, I plan to talk about something really old fashioned--paper reference sources. Despite the fact that reference service has changed dramatically with the advent of the internet and online sources, we still spend quite a bit of our precious reference budget on reference books. We are probably spending too much.

Each blog entry will feature a specific reference book and its purpose. I will then tell you what I think about it--whether it should be kept or discarded, and invite your input. Gradually, we will create a reference collection that is really used and really worth the money we spend.
